PURPOSE:To reduce lowering of the degree of decomposition of ozone in the severe reaction conditions by carrying the catalytic components having ozone decomposition activity on a thin porous carrier which has many fine holes in the thickness direction and molding a catalyst for decomposing ozone. CONSTITUTION:Metallic oxide such as nickel oxide and cobalt oxide and noble metal such as platinum are utilized as a catalytic component having ozone decomposition activity. This catalytic component is carried on a thin porous carrier made of metal and ceramics which have many fine holes in the thickness direction. A catalyst for decomposing ozone is molded. An ozone reactor 1 is constituted by mutually and parallel providing a plurality of catalysts 3 in a cylindrical casing 2 opened in both ends so as to cross the casing 2 while the intervals are properly held. When ozone-contg. air is introduced from one end of this reactor 1 and forcedly passed through the catalysts 3, ozone is catalytically decomposed and the purified air is discharged from the other end of the reactor 1. |
