<p>PURPOSE: To prolong an effective life by providing the device with an upstream surface and downstream surface and forming plural spaced parallel ridges on one of these surfaces in such a manner that the thickness of a pad changes in a direction perpendicular to these ridges. CONSTITUTION: The sorbent filter structure consisting of the pad of solid sorbent material in the form of a flat base has the upstream surface 3 and the downstream plane. The plural spaced parallel ridges 2 are formed on one of these surfaces in such a manner that the thickness of the pad changes in the direction perpendicular to these ridges 2. Consequently, the effective life of the sorbent pad is remarkably prolonged.</p> |
