PURPOSE:To simultaneously construct a tunnel section and a station section by interconnecting main line shield machines, which are arranged parallelly and spaced from each other, by a connection shield machine so that excavation is carried out, while segments are being assembled over the inner periphery of a tail ring. CONSTITUTION:Main line shield machines 1 having cutters 11 in the excavation front thereof are parallelly located and spaced a predetermined interval from each other, whereby these machines 1 are interconnected by a connection shield machine 2 having cutters 21. Then these shield machines of integral construction are driven forward to simultaneously excavate main line tunnel section 4 and a station section 5. Thereafter, a tail ring 22 having the same shape as the external shape of the shield machines is formed integrally with the tail side end of the connection shield machine 2. After the station section 5 has been constructed over a predetermined distance, the connection shield machine 2 is separated and the main line shield machine 1 is pushed forward to extend the main line tunnel 4. As a result, construction periods can be reduced, resulting in improved efficiencies. |
