In surgical cutting or removal of biological material, the temp. of the material is controlled in an arrangement of a detector or detector array (6) on which the radiation (2.1) emitted by the material is focussed by a lens (4), beam splitter (3) further lens (10), band-pass filter (5) and aperture shutter (7). The detector signal is amplified (8) and fed in a control circuit (17) to regulate laser output. The intensity of laser radiation is measured in spectral ranges between 2 and 2.6 microns, 3 and 4 microns or 7 and 9 microns. ADVANTAGE - Continuous operation possible with optimum output density. |
