<p>PURPOSE:To provide free insertion and removal in the rotating axis direction of a paper feed roller and prevent a sheet of paper from being torn and shifting sideways by raising up a paper feed cassette and a paper feed roller aslant while moving them together, and pressing the upper surface of the paper in the paper feed cassette by the paper feed roller. CONSTITUTION:To prevent the paper in a paper feed cassette 23 from coming into contact with a paper feed roller 3 and a sensor 40 during pressing-in the cassette, the height of a guide member 44 is set. The paper feed cassette 23 is raised up aslant by action of a traveling means 47 consisting of a rolling roller 45 and a cam member 46 near the final stage of pressing-in the paper feed cassette 23, so that the sensor 40 comes into contact with the top surface of the paper, and the top surface of the paper is pressed by the paper feed roller 3. Before the sensor 40 comes into contact with the top surface of the paper including when the paper feed cassette 23 travels to the top of the guide member 44, the down-stream side in the inserting direction of the paper feed cassette 23 comes into contact with a bent part 38a of a member 38 to be moved.</p> |
