PURPOSE: To carry out precise mass spectrometry by occupying a time length about mass when a traveling ion is reflected in a plane in a reflection field region formed by an electrostatic electrode field. CONSTITUTION: A single-pole type electrode structure 30 is equipped with slender electrodes 31 and 32, and they are extending in parallel to a Z axis in a longitudinal direction to be distanced with each other on an X-axis in a lateral direction. The electrode 31 has a V-shaped lateral direction cross section and also electrode plates 31' and 31" crossing at the top, while the electrode 32 has a slender bar shape. Here, the electrode 31 has a slender window 34 so that the ion can enter a field region due to reflection in an X-Z plane. When the electrode 32 is maintained in a positive D.C. voltage to the electrode 31, a static electric field, formed in a field region R, reflects an ion charged in positive. When the ion enters the field region at the opposite angleαto the X-axis, the ion having different mass occupies a different flight time length in reflection in the X-Y plane. |
