The water heater consists of a thermally insulated tank (4) which is mounted on a platform, supported by two hinged solar energy collector panels (1). The tank is connected to the water main and to a pipe (5) which passes through the collector panels and then returns to the tank. An outlet pipe (3) connects the tank to a shower head or other point of use. When not in use, the pipe (3) is released to enable the collector panels to be folded flat against the platform. The tank is automatically filled when connected to the mains. ADVANTAGE - Lightweight design, easy (dis)assembly, filling and discharge.
