The heat exchanger for regulating the cooling of hot gases, esp. by the steam reforming process, has a cylindrical housing (1). This housing has a header plate (2) which supports U shaped tubes (3) through which the cooling fluid flows. The housing has an inlet chamber (9) for the hot gas and an outlet chamber (11) for the cooled gas. The incoming hot gas is guided by means of a system of co-axial tubes (18,19,20) so that it flows over the U shaped tubes (3) and gives up its heat to the cooling fluid flowing in these tubes. The internal surface of the housing, is provided with a corrosion protection lining (15). USE - Cooling hot gases. (6pp Dwg.No.1/2) |
