<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a computer much more smaller and lighter than the conventional by packaging one hard disk drive (HDD) as an incorporated external storage device in the small-sized computer operated by a battery. CONSTITUTION:CPU 1, RAM 2, ROM 3 and an I/O control means 4 are connected by a bus 11 to constitute a basic circuit module 5. A keyboard 6, a flat display 7, HDD 8 are connected by the I/O control means 4 to input/output information. The battery 9 supplies power to a power source circuit 11, and the power is supplied from the power source circuit 11 to the basic circuit module 5, the keyboard 6, the flat display 7 and HDD 8, all of which are set to an operable state. HDD 8 is used as the single external storage device of the system to store information. Thus, the small-sized computer whose volume is smaller than the conventional one by about 8% and whose weight is lighter by about 10% can be obtained.</p> |
