A covering according to the invention for cable joints is formed by two sleeves (2, 3) of a cross-linkable polymeric material, one sleeve being radially inside the other sleeve. The two sleeves (2, 3) are independent of each other and the radially outermost sleeve (2) is fitted with relative interferences on the radially innermost sleeve (3) that for at least a part of its thickness is made up of an electrically insulating polymeric material compound.
