One subject of the invention is an apparatus closed at the top and a simpler apparatus open at the top for uniform impregnation of integral support members, especially for catalysts, with a desired quantity of substance from dispersions or solutions, in the form of a cup which receives the lower part of the support member, and a distributor head which can be placed on top of the support, making a seal, with a perforated distributor plate, provided with dripping tips around each outflow orifice, for the liquid to be applied and - in the version closed at the top - a cover and a number of branches on the distributor head for addition of liquid, ventilation and venting, and also an outflow branch in the cup. The invention also relates to a working process for operating the apparatus with embodiments which, inter alia, provide for certain relative movements between the distributor head and support member for improving the liquid distribution over the upper end face of the support. |
