PURPOSE:To obtain a polyimide resin powder which can give a polyimide resin molding excellent in both heat resistance and mechanical strengths by forming a powder of a polymer having repeating units of a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:A powder of a polymer having repeating units of formula I [wherein R0 is a 6-30C aromatic tetravalent organic group (e.g. formula II, III, IV, V or VI); R1 is a 6-30C aromatic bivalent organic group (e.g. formula VII); and R2 is a group of formula VIII, provided that the case where R1 and R2 are the same groups is excluded] is produced. A molding obtained from this resin powder is markedly improved in mechanical strengths without detriment to its excellent heat resistance as compared with a molding of a polyimide of formula IX (wherein R0 and R1 are as defined above), which is conventionally used in many industrial fields, so that it is a material very useful as a mechanical part such as a sliding member. |
