A process for preparing sulphonyl halides of formula: RCY(Z)SO2X where X, Y and Z are halo and R is alkyl, halo, haloalkyl or aryl wherein a sulphenyl halide of formula RCY(Z)SX is subjected to oxidation. The sulphonyl halides are useful intermediates for insecticides. |
