For securing a knob 16 to a spindle 10 having an end flat 9 the hub portion 7 of the knob has a shaped recess 18 for engagement by the end of the spindle and carries a sping collar 5, one end of which is bent over to form a tongue 6 passing through a radial slot 8 in the hub and engaging the flat 9 on the spindle. The length of the collar is such that it extends at least halfway round the hub portion 7. As shown the abutment surface of the tongue 6 is convex, but it may be formed with a knife edge engaging the flat 9 to oppose disengagement of the spindle, Figs. 3 and 6 (not shown). |
