Operating lever with an operating head 1 and an elongate lever part 2. At one end, this lever part bears the operating head and, at a distance from this end, it is connected to a mechanism which is to be operated. The operating head has an electric switch 14, 12. The operating head 1 is somewhat movable in the radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis 3 of the lever part and has a cavity 4 into which the lever part 2 projects with one 10 of its ends. The cavity 4 has a peripheral surface 11 which has an interspace to the surface 12 of said end of the lever part. Located in the interspace are on the one hand an elastic, annular centring element 13 which bears with its outer periphery against said peripheral surface of the cavity and with its inner periphery against the surface 12 of the lever part, and on the other hand an annular electric contact element 14 which forms part of the switch and is securely connected to the operating head and adapted to follow its radial movements. The centring element 13 tends to centre the contact element relative to the end portion 10 of the lever part. In a neutral position of the operating head, the movable contact element has an interspace to the end portion of the lever part (the end portion forms a second contact element in the switch). When the operating head is manually moved laterally relative to the lever part, the annular contact element is displaced into an eccentric position in contact with the second contact element.
