PURPOSE:To automatically determine a cancer focus outline (target) by eliminating the troublesomeness and error by carrying out each processing by a dimerizing means, outline extracting means, and a center-of-gravity calculating means, having the CT value and position of the center of gravity of a cancer focus as the threshold value for the next CT image and the outline pursuit starting point. CONSTITUTION:Only one point in a cancer focus outline is designation-inputted by the graphic pen of an input device 1, for the CT image (CT image No.n) on which a cancer appears most distinctly. The coordinate (x0 and y0) of the designated one point and CT0 as CT value are read out. Then, all the pixels of the pertinent CT image No.n are dimerization-processed, having the CT0 value as threshold value, and the boundary of the cancer focus is followed, having the coordinate (x0, y0) of the designated one point as starting point, and the center of gravity is obtained from the obtained focus. Afterwards, the cancer focus outline of each CT image is obtained successively and automatically, and the pertinent center of gravity is obtained by utilizing the fact that on two contiguous CT images, the possibility of the coordinate of the center of gravity of the focus on the CT image which is closer to the center of gravity to be included in the focus on the other CT image is high. |
