PURPOSE:To produce an electrode wire for preventing the corrosion of a duct for passing water by electrolytic protection by loosely and spirally winding a bundle of monofilaments of electrically non-conductive synthetic fibers around the surface of an insoluble metal wire. CONSTITUTION:A bundle 4 of monofilaments of synthetic fibers is loosely and spirally wound around the surface of an insoluble metal wire 3 to form an electrode wire 2 for preventing the corrosion of a duct 1. A Ti wire plated with Pt is suitable for use as the metal wire 3 and the thickness is regulated to about 0.2-2mm. PP or PE is suitable for use as the material of the monofilaments and the thickness of the bundle 4 is regulated to about 20-200% of the thickness of the metal wire 3. The winding pitch of the bundle of filaments 4 to the insoluble metal wire 3 is made about 1-5 times as large as the diameter of the metal wire 3. The resulting electrode wire 2 has a significant corrosion preventing effect and does not cause a short circuit between the wire 2 and the duct 1. |
