1,245,953. Shuttering support. RAPID METAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 23 Oct., 1968 [7 Nov., 1967], No. 50566/67. Heading E1S. A head for supporting a shattering beam has an upper channel formed by two side plates, one (16) of which is pivotally mounted at 19 to allow the beam to be disengaged laterally The other side plate is of Z-section (Fig. 1, not shown), with a small down-standing flange 15 on the same side of the tubular body 11 as the pivoted side plate, which flange 15 supports a rivet 19 forming the pivot. A slot 18 allows the plate 16 to be rotated without any substantial rising thereof, and an edge slot 17 allows an eye bolt 20 (Fig. 1) to fix the plate 16 in its working position, the eye bolt passing into a nut fixed to the flange 15. An externally threaded tube 22 is mounted over a spigot extending upwardly from the top of the supporting scaffolding, and allows the body to be lowered from the beam. Holes in the side plates allow the side plates to be screwed to the beam. |
