PURPOSE:To form sharp images by sticking magnetic particles and coloring agent particles of small sizes to the surfaces of spherical microparticles consisting of a prescribed compsn., thereby forming the toner having the uniform size and the same properties. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. essentially consisting of a prescribed monomer, prepolymer and coloring agent is uniformly mixed to prepare a toner-like liquid compd. and the compd. is primarily dispersed in the absence of a surfactant at the time of producing the magnetic toner particles A. The particles are secondarily dispersed by ultrasonic waves in succession thereto to form the hardened microparticles 1 of the compd. for the toner having 5 to 0.5 mum particle size. After a charge control function is imparted to this secondary dispersion, the magnetic particles 2 and the coloring agent particles 3 are mixed to adsorb on the surfaces of the particles; thereafter, the mixture is dehydrated, fluidized and dried to perfect the toner particles A. The toner having the uniform grain size as compared with the conventional irregular grain sizes and having the same properties is obtd. in this way. |
