PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency in the sage of lap seam welding of members of different thicknesses to each other by superposing a backing member of the thickness defined by the equation on the outer side of the thinner member thereby performing lap seam welding without expulsion and surface flash and undeposited parts. CONSTITUTION:In resistance lap seam welding of welding members which differ in thicknesses, and wherein the thickness t1 of the thinner member 3 is <=0.5mm. and the thickness t21 of the thicker member is <=3 times the thickness t1 of the thinner member 3 to each other, a backing member 4 of the thickness tx defined by the equationIis superposed on the outer side of the thinner member 3, and these members are subjected to resistance seam welding. If the thickner member 1 is superposed of >=2 sheets, the above refers to the total of the thickness of the members 1, 2 of >=2 sheets. |
