PURPOSE:To reduce the number of keys as well as the space of storage and to attain a small size and light weight of an arithmetic device along with a reduction of cost, by carrying out the setting of replacement and the selection of display of the data in accordance with each arithmetic by means of a small number of keys. CONSTITUTION:The data in a storing area DE is transferred to a latch part LAT3 in accordance with the operation of function keys K1-K6 plus the information of latch parts LAT1 and LAT2. Then a shift register part SR is actuated by a selection key K10, and at the same time the quantity of information that is selected through the part SR in the parts LAT1-LAT3 is periodically increased and decreased by means of a decrease key K11 and an increase key K13 respectively. Then the information of the latch part is fed to a character displays CD1 and CD2.
