The installation on crowns of walls of sludge sedimentation tanks or the like in sewage treatment plants serves as runways for rollers of wagons which carry treatment apparatuses and/or working platforms. Along the crown of the wall 12 are placed on its top individual elongate metal plates 1, with their ends abutting, the width of which corresponds at least to the width of the rollers and which are fixed to the crown of the wall 12. They have a corrugated surface. Between the plate 1 and the top of the crown of the wall 12 is provided a plate-shaped interlayer 4 serving for pressure distribution. In the upper side of the plate-shaped interlayer 4 are provided grooves for receiving heating cables 23.
