PURPOSE:To make an ink ribbon and a recording paper run smoothly and make possible satisfactory n times multiplication recording free from image irregularities or background contamination by adding silicon oil to a thermally melting ink layer provided on a support. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon is an ink compound obtained by adding 1 to 30 wt.%, preferably 5 to 20 wt.% of silicone oil to a wax ink layer or a mixed wax and resin ink layer 12. A base layer (support) 11a is a film which does not fuse to a thermal head and resist a temperature of more than 150 deg.C, if a heat-resistant layer 13 is not provided. Polyimide or polyester is used for the film. When the heat-resistant layer 13 is formed, the base layer 11b has only to resist a temperature of less than 150 deg.C. However, polyethylene or polypropylene is used as a base film which does not melt or become soft due to the heat of the thermal head. The heat-resistant layer 13 uses silicone resin or epoxy resin. |
