Laser comprising a housing and a laser tube which is inside the latter, with a current supply source and similar components, the housing having an opening, at a front end, for the passage of the laser beam, characterised in that the free internal length l of the housing 2 is less than the length L of the laser tube 3; plus an isolation spacing lying between the laser tube and the housing, the opening 14 of the housing is dimensioned in a way corresponding at least to the cross-section of a terminal part of the laser tube 3, and this opening is equipped with a fixing system 6 clamping the end of the laser tube 3 so as to protect it and isolate it. <IMAGE>
