PURPOSE:To accelerate the paint-out of the inside of a contour by storing the maximum value of the contour or the contour information of a character or a symbol, and generating the dot image of the character or the symbol by painting out a part between the maximum value and an origin when performing the paint-out. CONSTITUTION:The device is equipped with an address register 4 whose value is updated with the comparison result of a comparator 7, and the comparator 7 which compares the value of the address register 4 with x-y coordinates from a counter plotting circuit, etc. When a contour processing or contour plotting is performed, the maximum value of the contour or the contour information of the character or the symbol is stored, and the dot image of the character or the symbol can be generated by painting out the part between the maximum value and the origin when the paint-out is performed. Thus, since a part between the origin and a pointer value is painted out when the paint-out is performed, the paint-out can be performed with a small amount of scanning, and processing speed can be accelerated by the share reduced. |
