PURPOSE:To perform good overwrite recording by making an intermediate layer thinner than a base layer and providing an overcoat layer comprising dielectric material on a reflecting layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 3 in which information is recorded by changing the crystalline state, intermediate layer 4 of dielectric material thinner than the base coat layer 2, reflecting layer 5 of a metal thin film, and overcoat layer 6 of dielectric material are successively formed. For example, on a transparent substrate 1, there are successively formed Ta2O5 base layer 2, Te-Ge-Sb alloy thin film recording layer 3, Ta2O5 intermediate layer 4, Au reflecting layer 5, and Ta2O5 overcoat layer 6, and then a polycarbonate protective substrate 8 is provided by sticking with an adhesive 7 of UV-curing resin. Thereby, with a simple structure, overwrite recording can be preferably performed, and the obtd., optical information medium can endure many times of rewriting. |
