PURPOSE:To improve the insulation property between turns by flattening a glass sleeve which is braided by arranging the base material of glass in longitudinal and lateral directions in the direction of the diameter, forming an insulator between the turns of a superconductor, and winding the insulator around the superconductor in a spaced winding pattern. CONSTITUTION:A glass sleeve 11 is formed by arranging several pieces of glass yarns 2 on a rotary disk 12a and pulling out each glass yarn 2 in the axial direction on the surface of a core 12 so that the yarns are intersected. After the glass sleeve 11 is formed, a binder is removed, and a glass sleeve 14 without a binder is obtained. Planar pressure is applied on the glass sleeve 14 without the binder between rollers 15 before the glass sleeve 14 without the binder is wound around the superconductor. The glass sleeve 14 without the binder is made flat in the direction of the diameter, and a flat glass sleeve 16 is obtained. Then, the sleeve is wound around the superconductor 1 in a spaced winding pattern at a specified pitch. |
