The ink ribbon of a typewriter cassette passes from a supply spool out through one aperture and back through another to a take-up spool. The apertures are in protruding guide arms holding the ribbon tensioned between the type carrier and print positions. The apertures are covered during transport and storage by a removable cardboard part. The covering part has upper (31), lower (33) and side (35) parts, is folded between them and the free ends of the upper and lower parts are removably attached to the cassette housing (11).
