PURPOSE:To produce the subject compound useful as a production intermediate for functional polymer, LB membrane, surfactant, charge-transfer complex, ion sensor, masking agent and coupling agent by reacting a ferrocene derivative with a monocarboxylic acid in the presence of a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound can be produced by reacting (A) a ferrocene derivative [preferably a compound of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, methyl, methoxy, OH, amino, dimethylamino or halogen; (a) is 1-4; (b) is 1-5)] with (B) a monocarboxylic acid {preferably a compound of formula II [x is group of formula III (R<3> is H, 1-5C alkyl, 1-5C alkoxy, OH, amino, etc.), group of formula IV, CidenticalC. O, etc.; Y is H, halogen or nitrile]} in the presence of a catalyst (preferably phosphoric acid or its derivative) preferably at -5-+100 deg.C for 1-3hr. |
