PURPOSE:To make a sintered body dense and the structure fine and to control the constituent phases by sintering a mixture of ceramic powder with nonmetal powder and metal powder under pressure with heat generated by a thermit reaction. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of at least one kind of ceramic powder (A) with nonmetal powder (B) of at least one among C, B and Si and metal powder (C) and/or nonmetal powder other than the powder (B) is sintered under pressure with heat generated by a thermit reaction. A mixture of copper oxide powder with Al powder or a combination of the mixture with a mixture of iron oxide powder with Si powder is preferably used as a thermit compsn. for heating the powdery mixture to be sintered. |
