For the first time, complexes of molybdenum have been isolated, which are derived from 2-mercapto acetic acid having the general formula M[MoO2(CO2CSR1R2)2] wherein M is a counter-cation and R1 and R2 are branched or straight, or aromatic alkyl chains which may in both cases have other functional groups by treatment of a solution of the ligand of a polar solvent and the slow addition of a solution of a MoVI compound, while maintaining the pH between 3 and 8. These complexes have redox potentials which are appropriate for carrying out catalytic cycles of interest and present in addition the characteristic of being soluble in polar solvents such as water and methanol. These properties make them particularly useful in the chemical industry. (CO2CSR1R2)2.
|
