Disposal of domestic refuse - by mixing it with slurry, then drying and subsequently burning mixture

Domestic refuse, which is disposed of by burning in a fluidised bed, is prepared for burning in the following way. The refuse is first sorted to remove any metal, glass, building rubbish and similar incombustible materials. The combustible material is then cut-up or otherwise broken up. The broken up material is then mixed with clarified slurry before the water is removed. The two substances are then mixed in an agitator to form a paste-like mass which is formed into granules in a centrifuge. The granules are then dried in a fluidised bed drier which has a deodorising effect. USE - Disposal of domestic refuse.
