PURPOSE:To lessen pressure variation even in the later half of the lifetime of steel wool and thereby enhance the reliability by installing steel wool in the cylindrical form in the drum of scrubber body, and arranging it so that the exhaust gas flows from the periphery to the hollow and further to the outlet. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas from battery flows from a gas inlet 4 into the lower part of the body drum 1, and further from a vent in a support piece 8 to a gas passage 9 provided between the bore of the body drum 1 and the periphery of steel wool 3. The gas flows from the periphery of the steel wool 3 toward the hollow 10, and the wool 3 makes corroding reaction with phosphoric acid contained in the exhaust gas, and thus the phosphoric acid is removed. The exhaust gas after this reaction is released from a gas outlet 5. |
