The first drying of the metal tubular object, pref. of stainless steel, is effected with hot nitrogen gas at a temp. of 70 to 90 which is blown through it. Each tube opening is then covered by an end cap of flexible plastic material, terminating in an outwardly direct pipe. One of the pipes is connected to a supply line for very clean, dry gas which is made to flow through the tubular object so that all remaining moisture and all particles are washed away. Each pipe is then pressed together and permanently closed. In a conduit connected to the pipe on the outflow side is arranged a particle and moisture level meter, and the gas flow through the object is maintained until a predetermined level is shown on the meter on the outflow side, prior to the pipe being pressed together and closed. The gas in this instance is fed at room temp.. |
