The sensor has a detector of a physical parameter and a signal processor connected to the detector and contg. an arrangement (14,R) for adjusting the sensor characteristic. The adjustment arrangement has a switching mechanism (20) for stepwise electrical adjustment of the characteristic. The switching mechanism is switched over so that current is supplied from a current transformation procedure instead of from the signal processor's electrical supply. ADVANTAGE - Small, easily mounted, cheap and reliable sensor is manufactured with high yield.
