Electrical snap action switch - has monostable action with normally closed position using bowed disc of spring material

A snap action electrical switch is based upon a moving contact carrier in the form of a thin sheet of spring metal material. The carrier has mechanical stops (21) formed at two points held against a surface to form an initial curved section with a central stop (15). In the imactrated state the electrical contacts (16,23) are closed. An applied force (21) deflects the carrier in a snap action and the contacts open. When the actiating force in removed the contacts reclose in a snap action. ADVANTAGE - Refirms to closed position when input force is removed.
