PURPOSE:To omit a space in a vertical direction and to make a whole device thin by separating a tracking mirror from a fixed optical system and providing the tracking mirror on the side of an optical pickup base member. CONSTITUTION:An optical path separating member 30 is arranged in a plane parallel to an optical information recording medium 25 positioned just under an objective lens 26, which is arranged to face to the optical information recording medium 25, and a tracking mirror 31 is arranged on an optical path in the same plane as the optical path separating member 30 formed by transmitting light, which is emitted from a semiconductor laser 10, through the optical path separating member 30. This tracking mirror 31 is fitted to an optical pickup base member 32 so as to be freely rotated with an axis, which is parallel with the optical information recording medium 26, as a center. Thus, the space in the vertical direction is omitted in a direction vertical to the face of the optical information recording medium 25 and the device can be made thin. |
