A zoom type objective for forming in a short distance images of near objects, i. e. neither the object nor image distance exceeds about four times the length of the objective and the object may itself be an image produced by another objective, comprises a front fixed collective part, a movable middle dispersive part of focal length f' II and a movable rear collective part of focal length f' III wherein one or both of the following are satisfied: - a being the fixed object-to-image distance of the whole objective and Z being the zoom ratio. Optical data are provided for four examples, the first, Fig. 3, having a zoom ratio of 7 and the others a zoom ratio of 10. A pair of such objectives may be used in a stereomicroscope. |
