The invention relates to a lift installation provided with an up and down movable lift cage having at least one entrance, said lift cage being rotatably connected about a vertical axis of rotation to a support means, as well as with a helical rail and with wheel-shaped means co-operating with said helical rail. Either the helical rail forms part of a stationary construction and the wheel-shaped means are connected to the support means, or the helical rail is secured to the support means and the wheel-shaped means are supported by a stationary construction.
