PURPOSE:To make almost zero the occurrence of a backward bend or a wrinkle in the front end portion of a wound cloth and accurately true up the side edges of the cloth, by jerking the front end of the wound cloth to be unwound. CONSTITUTION:The front end portion of a wound cloth C is hung almost vertically by a prescribed length down onto a worktable 1, at the stop end of the travel path of the body 2 of a cloth unwinder. The front end portion of the wound cloth C is jerked in the direction from the center of the travel path toward the stop end thereof, by a jerking rod 11 movable in the direction of unwinding of the cloth, over the worktable 1. After that, the cloth unwinder body 2 is caused to travel. According to this constitution, the occurrence of a backward bend or a wrinkle in the front end portion of the wound cloth C is made almost zero, and the side edges of the cloth are accurately trued up, so that the complete automation of the unwinding of the wound cloth C is enabled. |
