FLAME RESISTANT OPTICAL COMMUNICATIONS CABLE

A flame-resistant optical communications cable is provided which, in the case of fire, is extremely resistant and does not give off any noticeable corrosive gases in such case. In one embodiment, the fiber sheath and the mounting and/or stress relief reinforcements are made of halogen-free materials which do not drip in the case of fire and have flexible characteristics. In another embodiment, the outer cable sheath is made of such a material.
