LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

摘要

PURPOSE:To increase storage performance as well as charge-discharge cycle life by using corrosion resistant metal powder as a conductive material in a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:An organic solvent in which a lithium salt is dissolved is used as an electrolyte. A positive electrode 4 in a charged state is constituted with a metal oxide or sulfide. A negative electrode 5 is made basically of lithium and niobium pentoxide and at least corrosion resistant metal powder is contained as a conductive material in the negative electrode 5. When a metal oxide is used in the negative electrode and carbon is used as its conductive material, its potential is near to that of lithium and lithium is doped in the carbon. By using high conductive corrosion resistant metal powder instead of carbon, a harmful influence caused by lithium doping is prevented. Storage performance is remarkably increased as well as charge-discharge cycle performance.
