PURPOSE: To facilitate a maintaining work without requiring secondary work by providing a first and second drive shaft portions defining one axis, a means for preventing relative rotation between the both portions, and a means for attaching the first drive shaft portion to the second drive shaft portion. CONSTITUTION: A drive shaft assembly 30 defines an axis 36, is equipped with a first or upper side drive shaft portion 34 having a first or upper end 38 which is connected with an engine 28 and is driven and engaged by it, and a second or lower side drive shaft portion 50, which is aligned with the first drive shaft portion 34 along the axis 36 and has a first or lower end connected with a propeller shaft 26. A ship propelling device 10 having this drive shaft assembly 30 is equipped with a means for preventing relative rotation between the first and second drive shaft portions 34, 50 and a means for fixing the first drive shaft portion 34 to the second drive shaft portion 50 in the direction of the axis 36 not to separate from each other. |
