PURPOSE:To provide superior strength and transferability to a Cu alloy without adding Co by adding specified amounts of Be, Fe, Ni and Si to Cu. CONSTITUTION:The composition of a Cu alloy for a metallic mold for molding plastics is composed of, by weight, 1.5-2.5% Be, 1.5-2.5% Fe, 0.5-1.5% Ni, 0.5-1.5% Si and the balance Cu. The alloy contains Fe as a grain refining element in place of Co. When the Cu alloy is used, the polished surface of a metallic mold is made free from unevenness due to difference in level and no tarnished layer is formed. Since the amount of Be is small, the cost of materials is reduced. |
