The vertical adjuster for a deflection fitting of a safety belt system comprises as loadbearingly dimensioned parts only the rail 10 and a plate-shaped blocking member 14 with anchoring pin 16 for the deflection fitting. A guide member or carriage 20 is mounted slidingly displaceably on the rail. The blocking member has a bend 46 which bears pivotally on the inner surface of the guide member. A release lever 38 is pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis 36 on the guide member. On actuation of the release lever the guide member is raised and presses against the shank 16A of the anchoring pin to pivot the latter together with the blocking member (with which it is rigid) until the lower edge of the blocking member comes free of the adjacent detent 12 of the rail. In the unactuated state the blocking member automatically assumes a stable locking position under the action of the tension originating from the belt system, causing tilting of the pin 16 and thus the blocking member 14, into the latched position. <IMAGE> |
