PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a hunting a phenomenon and the like by transferring to the operation condition to make the input element and the output element of a fluid coupling into an unengaged condition, when the slip amount of a lockup clutch is reduced extensively from the object value. CONSTITUTION:When the slip amount detected by a detecting device C is reduced extensively from the object slip amount resulting from a sudden variation of the engine operation condition and the like, in the slip connecting condition of the lockup clutch of a fluid coupling A, a hydraulic control device D transfers from the slip connecting condition of the lockup clutch L to the operation condition making the input element I and the output element O of the fluid coupling A into an unengaged condition through a hydraulic pressure feeding device B. As a result, the fluid coupling A is made in the converter condition, and the generation of a hunting phenomenon following the slip control carried out in the condition of a feedback control is prevented. In such a way, the generation of shocks in the delivery system of the torque generated by the engine can be prevented. |
