PURPOSE:To easily improve the general-purpose application and the performance of extension by assigning a logical number using a specific number of a terminal equipment as a key, adding a logical number to a data between a terminal equipment and a network and using the result for identifying each terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:When a terminal equipment having no logic number starts the communication, a logical number management section 35 of a data link layer 32 of a terminal equipment reads its specific number from a specific number ROM 37, adds the number to a logical number request signal and the result is sent to a network. A logical number provision section 45 of a data link layer 42 of the network extracts a specific number from a received logical number request signal, selects a logical number not given yet from a logical number-specific number relevant table 47 and returns the result to the terminal equipment. Furthermore, the provision section 45 writes the relevant specific number and logical number into the table 47. The management section 35 of the terminal equipment receiving the logical number assignment signal writes the extracted logical number into a logical memory 38. Then the communication between the terminal equipment and the network is implemented by using a logical number added to the data as a key. |
