PURPOSE:To obviate the need of an electromagnetic clutch in conventional use by engaging a pulley and a clutch plate which are meshed each other so that revolution is transmitted to the main shaft of a compression mechanism and the sliding in the axial direction is permitted and by engaging the outer periphery of a belleville spring tightened at the terminal of the main shaft with the clutch plate. CONSTITUTION:When the revolution torque of a main shaft 4 is increased by an abnormal load in a compressor, a phase deflection is generated between the meshing tooth 12b of a clutch plate 22 and the meshing tooth 21a of a clutch pulley 20, and the meshing tooth 12b rides over the meshing tooth 21a, and the clutch plate 22 shifts towards the top edge of the main shaft 4. Further, the belleville spring 24 engaged between the main shaft 4 and the clutch plate 22 is reversed by the shift of the clutch plate 22 in the axial direction. Therefore, the meshing between the both meshing teeth 21b and 21a is released, and the clutch pulley 20 idly revolves, and the transmission of revolution to the main shaft 4 is cut off. While, when the clutch function is restored, the rear surface of the clutch plate 22 is pushed back. Therefore, the need of an electro- magnetic clutch in the transmission mechanism of the compressor is obviated. |
