PURPOSE:To obtain a low cost analyser suitable for mass production by performing predetermined wave front conversion using a waveguide reflecting optical system formed as the boundary surface of a thin layer waveguide. CONSTITUTION:Waveguide reflecting optical systems 5, 8 as boundary surfaces are formed to the thin layer constituting a waveguide 2. When a signal 2 is applied to a transducer 6 in such a state that a semiconductor laser 3 is allowed to emit light, the surface elastic wave corresponding to the signal 12 propagates through the waveguide 2. At this time, guided beam guided as parallel beam from the system 5 to the system 8 is diffracted by a surface elastic wave and the diffracted beam is generated corresponding to the frequency component of the signal 12 and different in its angle of diffraction at every frequency. When the diffracted beam is reflected by the system, the reflected beam is incident to a photodetector array 4 at the position corresponding to the angle of diffraction. The frequency component of the signal 12 can be known on the basis of the interval between the respective converging points of zero order beam 9 and diffracted beam 10 by the output of the array 4. By this method, a low cost analyzer suitable for mass production is obtained. |
