摘要

PURPOSE:To enable non-destructive inspection of deformation and breakage of a reinforcing material which is embedded by casting in a base material of a composite casting member by embedding a sensitive material for non-destructive inspection together with said reinforcing material by casting in the base material thereby combining both materials. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing material which is manufactured by molding ceramic whiskers or fibers and is fixed or detained in a part of the surface thereof with a sensitive material for non-destructive inspection consisting of iron or the alloy thereof or copper or the alloy thereof is inserted into the prescribed position in a casting mold and a molten base material consisting of Al or the alloy thereof is supplied into said mold. The molten metal is solidified under the pressure exerted thereto and a desired composite casting member is obtd. The non-destructive inspection of the deformation and breakage of the reinforcing material after the combination is thus made possible extremely easily online.
